(Central News Agency reporter Yu Hsiao-han, Taipei, 23rd) The Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) announced today that the phase 1 switching construction for the Neili section's temporary track will take place from the 25th to the 26th. Some trains will be truncated, and local trains will be suspended. Additionally, due to slow train orders, all classes of trains between Keelung and Hsinchu may be delayed until June 7.

TRA plans to carry out the phase 1 switching construction of the Neili temporary track from 10:00 PM on the 25th to 6:20 AM on the 26th. TRA issued a press release today stating that to accommodate the speed limit required for the track switching project between Taoyuan and Zhongli and to ensure driving safety, a slow-down control will be implemented after the track switch until June 7. The slow-down section (K62+600~K65+260) is about 3 kilometers long, with an average speed limit of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour. It is estimated that trains passing through this section will be delayed by about 3 to 5 minutes.

TRA pointed out that due to the cascading delays caused by the slow orders, trains of all classes between Keelung and Hsinchu will be affected. Passengers are advised to leave flexible time when planning their itineraries.

Furthermore, TRA stated that due to the truncation of certain trains and the suspension of local trains on the specified construction dates, highway vehicle shuttles will be used instead.

TRA specified that the shuttle times are from 10:00 PM on April 25 to 12:20 AM on April 26; and from 5:00 AM to 6:20 AM on April 26.

TRA stated that the shuttle section covers Taoyuan, Neili, and Zhongli. There will be about 24 passenger bus vehicles on April 25 and 14 on April 26 running in both directions, with a frequency of about 5 to 10 minutes per trip. The number of trips may be adjusted dynamically according to the situation. The stops are Taoyuan Station, Neili Station, and Zhongli Station. (Editor: Li Heng-shan) 1150423
