(Central News Agency, Reporter Tseng Yun-ting, Taipei, 23rd) In response to media reports claiming that former Taipower Vice President Guo Tian-he will return to take the helm as General Manager, Economics Minister Kung Ming-hsin refrained from giving a direct confirmation during an interview today. He only strongly praised the current General Manager, Wang Yao-ting, calling him the best general manager in his heart, while keeping tight-lipped about the pending personnel arrangements.

According to media reports, the Executive Yuan recently approved a new wave of personnel appointments, among which Guo Tian-he is slated to become Taipower's General Manager, expecting to assume office on May 11. When interviewed by the media before hosting a Ministry of Economic Affairs business briefing today, Kung did not respond directly to the rumors. When pressed further, he simply deflected by asking for the "next question."

Kung stated that he first met Wang Yao-ting back in 2018 while serving as Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs. At the time, Wang was Taipower's Vice President, and the two often attended legislative inquiries together, where Wang performed exceptionally well. Kung pointed out that since Wang assumed the role of General Manager in 2022, Taipower and Taiwan have faced numerous challenges, all of which were successfully navigated thanks to Wang's vital contributions behind the scenes.

When reporters repeatedly asked whether Guo Tian-he would indeed take over as Taipower's General Manager, Kung still avoided a direct answer, merely saying, "Let's leave this question here for now. Next question." (Editor: Lin Chia-hsien) 1150423
