(CNA, Reporter Yu Hsiao-han, Taipei, 23rd) A THSR employee is suspected of installing a hidden camera to secretly film in the men's restroom at the TRA Xinzuoying Station. THSR stated that this was the personal behavior of the employee and they will actively cooperate with the police investigation. TRA said it has instructed the cleaning company and station staff to jointly conduct weekly anti-hidden camera checks in the station restrooms.

Media reports indicate that a THSR employee is suspected of secretly filming at the TRA Xinzuoying Station. The victims are primarily passengers, with estimates suggesting hundreds, or even over a thousand, people have been victimized.

In response, Taiwan High Speed Rail issued a written statement today saying that after investigation, it was determined to be the personal behavior of the suspected employee. The incident did not take place within the premises of THSR stations. THSR also immediately inspected the changing rooms and employee restrooms within its stations and found no abnormalities.

THSR stated that the case has now entered the judicial investigation stage. Upon learning of the incident, in addition to actively cooperating with the police investigation, THSR also made internal notifications, is keeping a close watch on the suspected employee, and will continue to monitor the results of the investigation. THSR also emphasized that it has an 'Employee Code of Conduct' which clearly stipulates disciplinary standards for employees involved in illegal incidents, and will uphold the principle of neither wronging the innocent nor sparing the guilty to deter illegal behavior.

TRA responded that on December 16 last year, cleaning staff from Dunhan Company discovered a suspected hidden camera on a urinal while cleaning the men's restroom on the north side of Xinzuoying Station. They immediately notified the station and reported it to the police. The case is currently being investigated by the Railway Police.

TRA pointed out that to prevent similar incidents from happening, it has instructed the cleaning company and station staff to jointly conduct weekly anti-hidden camera inspections in the station restrooms to ensure the safety and privacy of users. No similar incidents have occurred since then. (Editor: Wu Su-jou) 1150423
