(Central News Agency reporter Chen Jung-chen, Chiayi, 23rd) At the 115th National High School Athletic Games held in Chiayi, Taipei Datong High School standout Chuang Yuan-hsueh dominated the high school boys' badminton singles arena today. He stated after the match that his idol is Thai star Kunlavut Vitidsarn, and he hopes to become a well-rounded player in the future.

Hailing from Chiayi, Chuang Yuan-hsueh chose to go north after junior high school to join the badminton powerhouse Datong High School. This time, the National High School Athletic Games coincidentally allowed him to return "home" to Chiayi to compete. Junior high schoolmates also specially came to cheer for him, giving him an alternative home-court advantage. In the gold medal match, Chuang Yuan-hsueh defeated Yang Chieh-tan of New Taipei's Neng Ren Home Economics And Commercial Vocational High School with scores of 21-7 and 21-15, bringing a perfect end to his "last dance" at the National High School Games with a gold medal.

From successfully advancing to Division A in the 1st National Badminton Ranking Tournament this year, to now dominating the National High School Games arena, Chuang Yuan-hsueh said in a joint media interview after the match that with improvements in stability and stroke variations, he felt this season went particularly smoothly. Next, he plans to travel to Japan in June to compete in the U19 Asian Junior Badminton Championships.

Chuang Yuan-hsueh revealed that his idol is the world No. 2 Thai star Kunlavut Vitidsarn. He hopes to become a comprehensive player like Kunlavut in the future, and disclosed that during his senior year, he has been studying Kunlavut's playing style through videos. "I feel he plays very casually, but he can control the entire situation."

In the high school girls' badminton singles championship match, it was a "Datong civil war," with Liao Yuan-chi ultimately defeating her teammate Ko Chia-ling 21-15, 16-21, 21-14 to claim the title. Coach Lin Chun-yung stated that he hopes his beloved pupil will advance towards a "three-sword style" covering women's singles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles. Liao Yuan-chi also believes she can find joy in different events, "which helps me maintain my passion for badminton." (Editor: Chang Ya-ching) 1150423
