Army Instructor Suspended and Prosecuted After Trainee Injured During Combat Life-Saving Training

The Army Training and Doctrine Development Command (TRADOC) announced today that a trainee in the Combat Casualty Care specialty course at the Chemical Warfare Training Center reported suffering 'contusions and subcutaneous edema' due to suspected instructor misconduct during an examination. Upon receiving the report, TRADOC launched an immediate investigation. The instructor involved has been reassigned to a subordinate unit and suspended from duty. He is currently under legal investigation and has been referred to judicial authorities for prosecution. TRADOC emphasized that while rigorous training is essential for combat readiness, intentionally causing injury under the guise of training is strictly forbidden. The command also pledged to review supervision responsibilities at all levels and has been in contact with the trainee's family to explain the strict legal stance and assist with medical certification. Future efforts will focus on improving instructor qualifications and strengthening management systems to maintain military discipline.
