(CNA Reporter Chen Chih-chung, Taipei, 23rd) The high school exam-free admission system divides the country into 15 school districts. Students who wish to further their education in a district outside of where their graduating junior high school is located must apply to change their school district between April 23 and 30.

To encourage attending schools nearby, the exam-free admission system established 15 school districts nationwide, such as the Keelung-Taipei region, Hsinchu-Miaoli region, and Taichung-Nantou region; in principle, students must proceed to higher education in the area their graduating junior high school belongs to.

However, many students wish to change school districts due to moving, having already studied across districts during junior high school, or because their current district lacks the high school subject groups or industry-specific vocational programs that fit their aptitudes.

The Ministry of Education announced through a press release today that the application period to change school districts for the 115th academic year senior high school exam-free admission is from April 23 to 30.

The Ministry of Education pointed out that current graduating students must fill out an application form online, attach relevant supporting documents, and apply through their junior high school. Non-current graduates, students with equivalent qualifications, or students studying at Taiwanese schools overseas must apply to the exam-free admission committee of their desired school district. Application results will be notified in writing by May 18.

It is worth noting that some high school science classes and art talent classes are not restricted by school districts and can be applied for across regions nationwide. In addition, junior high schools located on the borders of certain counties and cities are designated as "joint school districts," allowing students to choose freely.
