(CNA Reporter Chang Chien-chung, Taipei, 22nd) IC design company VIA Technologies announced today that in collaboration with Chengteh Fire Equipment, it will showcase an early AI fire detection and active defense system developed for new energy fires at the Taipei International Fire & Safety Expo.
VIA Technologies issued a press release stating that traditional fire fighting systems mostly rely on smoke or heat sensing, often activating only after the fire has already formed. The early fire detection system built by VIA uses smart cameras to track abnormal environmental temperatures, smoke characteristics, and specific gas trends, enabling it to issue an alarm in the early stages of a fire, buying crucial golden rescue time for firefighting.
Huang Tsung-ching, Director of the AI Business Division at VIA Technologies, said that in unmanned environments such as electric vehicles and energy storage cabinets, detection speed is related to the scale of damage. VIA's AI technology is not just for monitoring, but also for active safety defense. By linking with Chengteh Fire's fireproof water screen equipment, it achieves a seamless transition from smart early warning to cooling and isolation.
VIA Technologies pointed out that the highlight of the exhibition at the Taipei International Fire & Safety Expo is the integrated application of its AI detection system and Chengteh Fire's equipment. Once the VIA system detects an anomaly, it can trigger the undercarriage sprinkler system and the water curtain wall water system. This can be applied in diverse scenarios such as underground parking lots, commercial office buildings, factories, and warehouses. (Editor: Yang Kai-hsiang) 1150422
