(CNA, Taipei, 22nd) The Taiwan Stock Exchange is actively helping to build Taiwan into 'Asia's NASDAQ.' Following a recruitment trip to Silicon Valley in March, it announced today a visit to Penang, Malaysia—a global semiconductor hub—to conduct deep exchanges with local semiconductor industry representatives.

Tian Jian-zhong, Manager of the Listing Department II at TWSE, stated that Malaysia plays a key role in the global semiconductor industry, especially in assembly and test processes. It is one of the world's largest semiconductor packaging and testing bases, with about 15% of global capacity concentrated there. Penang is known as the 'Silicon Valley of the East,' playing a heavy role in automotive chips and power semiconductors.

Tian said the tour aims to use TWSE as an international fundraising platform to drive cooperation opportunities in the semiconductor supply chain between Taiwan and Malaysia.

TWSE collaborated with Yuanta Securities and KPMG (Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler) to hold a Taiwan Capital Market Briefing and dinner in Malaysia, engaging with nearly 10 semiconductor industry representatives.

TWSE stated that it has been actively laying out the Southeast Asian innovation ecosystem in recent years, providing one-stop services from pre-listing consultation and listing to post-listing IR and ESG guidance. Malaysia has a mature industrial structure, particularly in assembly and test manufacturing. Through this exchange, several large Malaysian-based Taiwanese businesses expressed interest in returning to Taiwan for listing. (Editor: Yang Kai-hsiang) 1150422
