(CNA, Taipei, 22nd, Reporter He Hsiu-ling) Taiwan stocks opened slightly higher today. By 9:13 AM, the index had jumped over 280 points in early trading to near 37,887 points, hitting a new intraday high. Market heavyweight TSMC rose 10 NTD in early trading, bringing its stock price to 2,060 NTD.

Regarding the early performance of other heavyweight stocks, Hon Hai rose 4 NTD to 215 NTD; MediaTek rose 75 NTD to 2,165 NTD; and Delta Electronics fell 10 NTD to 2,005 NTD.
