Central News Agency, Taipei, 22nd — Taiwan stocks opened high and continued to climb today, with the index surging over 400 points during the session to cross the 38,000-point mark for the first time, reaching a new intraday high of 38,087.87 points. Market heavyweight TSMC rose by NT$15 to NT$2,065. Strong shipments of AI servers boosted cooling-related concept stocks, and IC design concept stocks also showed a stellar performance during the session.

As of 10:31 AM, the TAIEX was at 38,014.45 points, up 409.34 points or 1.09%, with a transaction value of approximately NT$513.909 billion. Looking at the performance of large-cap stocks, Hon Hai rose by NT$11.5 to NT$222.5; MediaTek surged by NT$175 to NT$2,265; and Delta Electronics climbed by NT$25 to NT$2,040.

The electronics sector index rose by 1.38%, the financial sector index increased by 0.11%, and the OTC index, representing small and medium-sized stocks, gained 1.69%.

Among cooling concept stocks, Auras Technology hit its limit up at NT$1,155, while Chaun-Choung Technology rose over 7%. T-Global Technology, Fositek, and Sunonwealth Electric all gained over 3%.

Several IC design concept stocks hit their daily limit up, including M31, Parade Technologies-KY, Jin Lih-KY, Genesys Logic, VIA Technologies, and FocalTech.

Senior securities analyst Po-I Chien stated that the index continuing to set new highs today shows that the bullish market sentiment is sustained. The number of advancing stocks increased, the emerging market remained active, and domestic capital continued to flow in, keeping Taiwan stocks on a high-level trajectory.
