(Central News Agency reporter Lin Chiao-lien, Kaohsiung, 22nd) Kaohsiung City's Taoyuan Junior High School performed brilliantly at the 115th National Middle School Athletic Games. Judo team athlete Gao Cai-fei won the gold medal in the Junior High Girls' 4th weight class, creating an outstanding record of 4 consecutive championships. Additionally, they won a silver medal in weightlifting; the team brought home 1 gold, 2 silvers, and 2 bronzes in total, showing an impressive performance.
Taoyuan Junior High School issued a press release today stating that the sports class participated in this year's NMSAG, bringing glory to the school on the competitive stage. In Judo, Gao Cai-fei won the gold in the Girls' 4th weight class, Yan Peng-xin won silver in the Girls' 7th weight class, Gao Sheng-ni took bronze in the Girls' 3rd weight class, and Yan Cheng-hao won bronze in the Boys' 7th weight class; in the weightlifting team, Xie Yi-jun took home silver in the Girls' 58kg class.
The school pointed out that from the 112th to the 115th year, Taoyuan Junior High School won consecutive championships in the Judo Girls' 4th weight class through Gao Yi-xin, Lin Pei-xin, Yan Lin, and Gao Cai-fei, completing a rare 4-peat, which demonstrates the school's long-term results in cultivating Judo talent.
After the match, Gao Cai-fei stated that winning the gold and completing the 4-peat relied on daily training and mutual encouragement with seniors and peers, and she also thanked the principal and coaches for their long-term support and guidance.
Principal Chen Shi-ming stated that behind the 4-peat is the accumulation of the athletes' long-term dedication and hard work. Taoyuan Junior High School, operating in a relatively resource-limited environment, still cultivated competitive athletes, demonstrating resilient willpower and team spirit.
Chen Shi-ming pointed out that the school has long faced challenges such as insufficient sports resources and limited training space, especially since Typhoon Gaemi damaged the Judo hall. However, teachers and students continuously adjusted their training methods, seeking breakthroughs in adversity and consolidating stronger cohesion.
The school stated that the athletes made up for the resource gap with hard work and continued to improve in the arena. They also thanked the public for their support, which allowed the Judo and weightlifting teams to train stably and improve their overall performance.
Kaohsiung City Education Bureau Director Wu Li-sen also arrived at the scene to cheer for the athletes, commending Taoyuan Junior High School for cultivating excellent athletes under difficult conditions, showcasing the results of deep-rooted grassroots sports.
