New Taipei Mayor Race: Hou Confident in Li as Blue-White Polling Begins

The Blue-White coalition's polling for the New Taipei Mayor seat is set to begin. Mayor Hou Yu-ih stated today that he has full confidence in KMT candidate Li Sichuan winning the nomination. Li Sichuan recently visited an industrial laboratory in Xizhi, pledging to help traditional industries upgrade and improve the investment environment to keep businesses in New Taipei. On the other hand, DPP legislator Su Chiao-hui noted that her poll numbers have improved significantly over the past 600 days, which she views as a validation of her vision. TPP legislator Huang Kuo-chang took to Facebook to urge supporters to vote for him in the upcoming polls. Huang also proposed a major budget increase for indigenous residents, aiming to match the per capita spending level of Taoyuan City, and called for the creation of 'Indigenous Family Theme Centers' and dedicated service hotlines.
