Hsu Shu-hua Declines to Comment on China's Interference with President's Trip at Two Lakes Forum

The 18th Two Lakes Forum between Sun Moon Lake (Nantou) and West Lake (Hangzhou) opened today at the Lealea Wyndham Sun Moon Lake Hotel. Nantou County Governor Hsu Shu-hua and Hangzhou Vice Mayor Lu Xiaguang co-hosted the event, focusing on cultural arts, healthy cities, tourism, and youth development. Following the Presidential Office's announcement that President Lai Ching-te's trip to Eswatini was delayed due to Chinese interference, media asked Hsu for her views. She remained low-key and did not respond, stating only that press releases and photos would be provided after the forum. This year's forum remained closed to the press. The event included sessions on urban public art and traditional crafts like 'Nantou Pottery' and 'Bronze Art,' alongside discussions on youth entrepreneurship and sustainable tourism.
