Yang Jie-mei and Jian Man-shu Play Mother and Daughter in Public Interest Film Exploring Long-Term Care Issues

Yang Jie-mei and Jian Man-shu portray a mother and daughter in the public interest short film 'My Unexpected Parents.' In the film, Yang plays a mother with intellectual disabilities, and through her interactions with Jian's character, the film explores long-term care issues. Yang revealed that her performance was inspired by a group of children with intellectual disabilities she encountered on the MRT. The film also features Chen Wen-shan and Liang Shu-han and is adapted from a real-life story focused on the theme of 'non-blood-related love.' Yang, who currently teaches at Shih Hsin University, shared that the timing was perfect for this script. Jian Man-shu praised the veteran actors for their natural performances, noting that Chen Wen-shan was warm and talkative, making everyone feel like a family, while Yang was thoughtful enough to make snacks for the crew.
