(Central News Agency reporter Li Chien-chung, Taipei, April 21) The Taipei Yongfeng Wangbao 3x3 professional basketball team held its 2026 season naming rights press conference today. In the new season, the team will continue to focus on "internationalization, professionalization, and youth development," aiming to break through international points and challenge for Olympic qualification.
In the 2025 season, the Taipei Yongfeng Wangbao 3x3 professional basketball team once again made history, not only maintaining its position among strong Asian teams but also elevating its global ranking to 26th and its Asian ranking to 5th.
This season's roster, in addition to continuing to feature Wang Hsin-wei, the core player ranked first in domestic 3x3 points, also invited international-level foreign players from top-ranked countries to join.
These include professional players from 3x3 powerhouses such as Petar Ivanovic from Montenegro, Nikola Kovacevic from Serbia, and Leonardo Branquinho from Brazil, further enhancing the team's overall competitiveness and international practical experience.
Wu Tung-chiao, Chairman of Wangbao Integrated Marketing, stated in his speech that 3x3 basketball is not only an official Olympic event but also an important trend in the future development of Taiwanese basketball. In the future, the team will continue to advance towards the Olympic stage with "professionalization, internationalization, and youth development" as its core direction.
This year, the team also simultaneously launched a youth development program. Through the systematic training of the Wangbao Youth Team, in collaboration with partners such as I-Shou University, they continue to discover and cultivate potential new-generation 3x3 players, establishing a complete training system from grassroots to professional teams, laying a solid foundation for the future of Taiwanese 3x3 basketball.
In terms of coaching staff, Cheng Chih-lung, known as the "Basketball Doctor," continues to serve as an important leader for the team, continuing to cooperate with former Serbian national team coach Nenad Djurdjevic, leading the team steadily towards the world stage. (Editor: Lee Shu-hua) 1150421
