Central News Agency (CNA) Message
(CNA Reporter Shen Ju-feng, Yilan County, 21st) Yilan police stated today that a 70-year-old man surnamed Lin was suspected of manufacturing 'Etomidate' vape pods (commonly known as 'Zombie Vape Pods') in a residential house in Zhuangwei Township using a 'home-based assembly line' method. Police conducted a raid following a tip-off and transferred the case for prosecution.
The Suao Police Precinct of the Yilan County Police Bureau noted today that Lin is suspected of purchasing Etomidate powder through various channels and using simple chemical equipment in a residential building in Zhuangwei Township to blend raw materials with chemical agents to produce Zombie Vape Pods for profit.
Police discovered that Lin had installed more than 10 sets of surveillance cameras around the manufacturing site to monitor movement and evade detection. After gathering evidence, investigators requested the Yilan District Prosecutors Office to lead the investigation. Fully armed SWAT teams (Thunder Squad) bypassed the cameras and conducted a surprise raid to arrest the suspect.
Police found and seized relevant raw materials and evidence at the scene. Lin's daughter and son-in-law are also suspected of violating the Narcotics Hazard Prevention Act. All three individuals have been transferred to the Yilan District Prosecutors Office for further investigation. (Editor: Chang Ming-kun) 1150421
