After adopting a city councilor's suggestion, the Hsinchu City Government invested funds in hardware improvements and optimized ventilation, lighting, and illumination to provide a more user-friendly toilet space for citizens. The project is expected to be completed by the end of September. Hsinchu City Councilor Huang Meihui of the Kuomintang told CNA today that Dananya Park is a core area for elderly residents in the surrounding area to walk and exercise on weekdays, and in recent years, it has transformed into a venue for large-scale events such as New Year's Eve celebrations and camping festivals. Originally, there was only one unisex toilet, which was too simple and had been in use for many years, leading many citizens to petition for its renovation and optimization. Huang Meihui said that the city government approved the funding and planned a comprehensive renovation of the old building, and will also add new restrooms. Various spatial and circulation designs will ensure safe use for people of all ages, and further solve the problem of elderly people needing to use the toilet during exercise. The Hsinchu City Government's Public Works Department stated that in addition to hardware updates, ventilation, lighting, and night lighting equipment will also be improved.
