(Central News Agency reporter Chen Chih-chung, Taipei 21st) Several legislators today held a press conference to address the bullying case involving NTNU gymnastics coach Weng Shih-hang. NTNU stated today that after investigation, a decision was made to suspend Weng Shih-hang for two years, reiterating its "zero tolerance" for bullying and no cover-up.

Democratic Progressive Party legislators Chen Pei-yu, Wu Pei-yi, Chang Ya-lin, and the Humanistic Education Foundation jointly held a press conference today at the Legislative Yuan, accusing Weng Shih-hang, an associate professor in the Department of Athletic Performance at National Taiwan Normal University and an Olympic gymnastics coach, of long-term high-pressure management culture involving bullying.

NTNU stated today that the university upholds the stance of "zero tolerance for bullying, no wrongful accusations or leniency, and active handling according to law." For any incidents involving campus bullying, gender equality, or improper discipline, the highest principle is to protect student rights and maintain campus safety, with no cover-up or leniency.

The university pointed out that after receiving the report in August 2025, it immediately initiated campus safety reports, social welfare reports, and relevant investigation procedures. Cases were handled separately according to their nature by gender equality mechanisms, campus bullying prevention mechanisms, and personnel procedures, with external professional committee members participating in the investigation.

During the investigation period, the school successively took preventive measures such as temporary suspension, termination of contract execution, and adjustment of teaching and training duties to prevent students from being further affected.

NTNU stated that based on the recommendations of the bullying investigation team, and after review by the three-level faculty evaluation committee in accordance with the law, disciplinary actions were taken against the teachers involved in the bullying case: Weng Shih-hang was suspended for two years, and Mai Liu Hsiang-han's contract was terminated with a recommendation not to rehire her as a teaching staff member within two years. These decisions have been reported to the Ministry of Education for review.

Regarding the gender equality case, NTNU has restarted the investigation procedure in accordance with the opinions of the competent authority's review and will continue to complete subsequent review operations as required.

NTNU Student Association also issued a statement today, calling for a comprehensive review of relief and school team management mechanisms to rebuild student trust.

The student association emphasized that training should maintain students' physical and mental health and holistic development, and "excellent performance should not be built on physical and mental harm." It also called on the university to comprehensively review the relationship between courses and training, actively understand the forms of power operation, and research the reasons why students cannot trust internal relief channels.
