(Central News Agency reporter Jiang Yi-ching, Yunlin County, 21st) Lin Zheng-tai, Chairman of Taiwang Company, and his cousin, Liao Pei-hsin, Secretary of the Yunlin District Prosecutors Office, jointly donated a full set of dental equipment and entrusted Dr. Lai Yi-shao, a dentist from National Taiwan University, to set up dental services at the Erlun Township Health Center, overcoming the predicament of no dental services in Erlun Township.

The Erlun Township Health Center in Yunlin County today held a donation ceremony for dental medical equipment, witnessed by Yunlin County Deputy Magistrate Chen Bi-jun, Health Bureau Director Zeng Chun-mei, and Yunlin County Dentists Association Chairman Huang Zhao-xian.

Lin Zheng-tai and Liao Pei-hsin stated that they were honored to have the opportunity to contribute to Yunlin's remote areas and hoped that this donation would inspire more people to pay attention to grassroots medical care and health issues in remote areas, working together to improve public health.

Chen Bi-jun stated that with the dental equipment donation in Erlun today, Yunlin County has completed the last mile, stepping out of the dilemma of townships without dental services. She also thanked Kuomintang Yunlin County Councilor Li Ming-zhe and Huan Shan Transport Group Chairman Zhang Chun-mei for facilitating the joint donation of dental equipment by Lin Zheng-tai and Liao Pei-hsin, valued at over NT$1 million.

Huang Zhao-xian said that today is a milestone for Yunlin County in formally stepping out of the non-dentist township status. Kouhu and Erlun have long not had resident dentists, relying only on mobile medical models with treatment chairs set up in three schools in Kouhu and two schools in Erlun to serve the local residents. Today, he thanked Dr. Lai Yi-shao for being willing to come to Erlun and Kouhu Health Centers to perform dental treatments.

Huang Zhao-xian expects public and private sectors to combine social forces and invest more in remote areas with insufficient medical care. The association will also do its best to collectively assist in safeguarding public health.

Li Ming-zhe pointed out that by chance, he learned that Lin Zheng-tai's ancestors were from Xiluo Dingpeitou, and during his childhood, he often stayed with his grandparents in Xiluo during summer and winter vacations, thus developing a deep affection for Yunlin. He has always been concerned about the development of medical resources in remote areas and the health of local residents, thus facilitating this donation. (Editor: Li Shu-hua) 1150421
