(Central News Agency reporter Wu Che-hao, Changhua, 21st) The smart skybridge "Mu En Corridor," connecting Changhua Christian Hospital's Teaching and Research Building and Medical Building, was officially opened today. The skybridge is approximately 71 meters long and spans the intersection of Xuguang Road and Bo'ai Street in Changhua City, making it safer and more convenient for patients, families, and medical staff to access the buildings.

Changhua Christian Hospital issued a press release today explaining that the intersection of Xuguang Road and Bo'ai Street, surrounding the Teaching and Research Building and Medical Building, has a high volume of traffic and pedestrians, making traffic accidents prone to occur. As early as 2003, the Changhua Christian Hospital Board of Directors approved the idea of constructing a skybridge, but it was repeatedly delayed due to insurmountable urban road conditions and traffic maintenance issues.

Changhua Christian Hospital pointed out that under the efforts of the current superintendent, Chen Mu-kuan, the "Mu En Corridor" smart skybridge project began construction last year, obtained its occupancy permit yesterday, and officially opened today. The skybridge is approximately 71 meters long, 6 meters wide, and about 5 meters high, spanning the intersection of Xuguang Road and Bo'ai Street. It not only connects the hospital buildings but also serves the important function of diverting pedestrians, medical personnel, and traffic flow, making passage safer and more convenient for patients, families, and medical staff.

Changhua Christian Hospital explained that the skybridge also incorporates smart mobility assistance equipment, providing safer and more effortless mobility options between the skybridge and the hospital area for elderly people with mobility impairments, post-operative patients, and those who need assistance, integrating smart assistive devices with a friendly barrier-free space.
