CTBC Bank issued a press release today stating that the "2026 Reading MVP," a public welfare campaign combining reading and sports, officially kicked off today. It partnered with 55 public libraries and 14 university libraries across Taipei City, New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Keelung City, Chiayi City, and Chiayi County to launch a "borrow books, exchange for tickets" activity. Completing designated borrowing tasks will earn participants a ticket exchange voucher for a CTBC Brothers home game.

Simultaneously, the second phase of the "Reading Home Run" book-to-ticket activity will launch on June 2nd in collaboration with the National Library of Public Information at county and city libraries in the central region. The two phases of the campaign will distribute a total of 12,000 CPBL CTBC Brothers ticket exchange vouchers. Furthermore, additional grand prizes such as premium hotel accommodation vouchers will be offered, inviting the public to submit and share their reading reflections, supporting the development of Taiwan's baseball through reading.

The "2026 Reading MVP" specially invited Sung Sheng-jui, a national team player in this year's World Baseball Classic (WBC) and outfielder for the CTBC Brothers, along with Lin Jen-hung, small forward for the New Taipei CTBC DEA basketball team, and Hsu Shih-chieh (Rest), top laner for the CTBC Flying Oyster esports team, to serve as annual ambassadors. A sharing event was held yesterday at Feng Chia University.

Through focusing on self-improvement and thoughts of contributing to the team, Sung Sheng-jui was able to secure a position in the first team. Sung Sheng-jui said that baseball is a team sport, "It's okay to let others be the hero; I just want to do my part well."

From now until May 17th, completing the task of borrowing 10 books at partner public libraries or accumulating 10 points through the reading passbook system can be exchanged for 1 baseball ticket. In addition, teachers and students at 14 universities, including National Chengchi University, National Taiwan Normal University, National Chung Hsing University, Tunghai University, Fu Jen Catholic University, Soochow University, Feng Chia University, Providence University, CTBC Business School, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, National Taipei University of Technology, Central Taiwan University of Science and Technology, CTBC University of Technology, and Takming University of Science and Technology, can also receive 1 ticket exchange voucher by borrowing 3 books at their campus libraries.

Coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the founding of CTBC, the "Reading MVP" is holding a writing sweepstakes for a one-night, two-meal accommodation voucher at the Hi-Lai The Lalu Sun Moon Lake at cooperating library channels. Pick up a dedicated manuscript paper, write a reading reflection of 300 words or more, and return it to the library counter for a chance to win one double accommodation voucher for the Hi-Lai The Lalu Sun Moon Lake and various professional baseball and basketball gifts.
