Middle East and Iran War Key News
(Central News Agency, Washington, 14th) US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated today that China is an unreliable global partner because it hoarded oil during the Middle East war and restricted the export of certain goods, a situation akin to its hoarding of medical supplies during the pandemic.
According to Reuters, Bessent told reporters that he has discussed this issue with Chinese officials. He evaded a question on whether this might derail US President Donald Trump's planned visit to Beijing at the end of this month, but noted that Trump maintains a "good working relationship" with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Bessent pointed out: "I think the message of this visit is stability. Since last summer, our relationship has been very stable; this stability is driven from the top down. I think the key lies in communication." (Compiled by: Chen Cheng-chien) 1150414
