Iran-US War Key News
(CNA Washington, 15th, Comprehensive Foreign Dispatch) US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said today that warning letters have been sent to two Chinese banks stating that they will be subjected to US secondary sanctions if they do business with Iran.
According to Bloomberg News, Bessent pointed out at a press conference held at the White House today: "Two Chinese banks have received letters from the US Treasury Department."
Bessent mentioned: "I will not disclose which two banks they are, but we told them that if we can prove Iranian funds are flowing through your accounts, we will be prepared to implement secondary sanctions."
The US Treasury Department recently threatened to impose secondary sanctions on foreign financial institutions that "continue to support Iranian activities." Bessent referred to this action as "Economic Fury," corresponding to the "Epic Fury" military operation launched by the US against Iran. (Compiler: Chen Cheng-chien) 1150416
