(CNA Reporter Wang Hsin-yu, Taipei, 14th) The 2026 Taipei Film Festival announced today that actor Tseng Jing-hua will take over as the festival ambassador, joining hands with 'A Boy and a Girl' director Pan Ke-yin to create a promotional video. Tseng Jing-hua laughed, saying he originally just wanted to be a cardboard cutout, but now he wants to be an enthusiastic class monitor, calling on everyone to watch movies together.

Through the Taipei Film Festival, Tseng Jing-hua expressed that he feels both happy and nervous about being the ambassador. He initially thought he only needed to contribute his handsome looks as a cardboard cutout, but after getting deeply involved, he feels like an enthusiastic class monitor elected by filmmakers and fans, hoping to call on more people to enter the theater and experience the magic of cinema.

Tseng Jing-hua said that in the past, he mostly communicated with the audience through his characters, but this time he wants to face them as 'himself,' closing the distance between the film festival and the audience. 'I want to invite everyone to experience every movie with the most sincere attitude.'

Tseng Jing-hua made a name for himself with the movie 'Detention,' and his subsequent performances in 'Your Name Engraved Herein,' 'Da Meng,' and 'A Boy and a Girl' all received critical acclaim. 'A Boy and a Girl' won him the Golden Horse Award for Best Supporting Actor. He will collaborate again with the film's director, Pan Ke-yin, to create the promotional video, which will premiere on the 22nd.

The 2026 28th Taipei Film Festival will be held from June 26 to July 11. (Editor: Chang Ya-ching) 1150414
