(CNA Reporter Yu Hsiao-han, Taipei, 15th) In response to the passenger demand for traveling home for Mother's Day, Taiwan Railways (TRA) announced today that it will add 14 trains across the network from May 8 to 10. Ticket booking will be open to passengers starting at midnight on April 17.
TRA issued a press release today stating that to meet the travel demand for Mother's Day, a total of 14 additional trains will be operated across the network from May 8 to 10. This includes 8 cross-line Tze-chiang Limited Express trains, 4 West Coast line Tze-chiang trains, and 2 East Coast line Tze-chiang trains.
TRA pointed out that bookings for the additional services will open simultaneously at midnight on April 17 via the internet, the 'TRA e-ticketing' app, convenience stores, and voice ticketing.
In addition, Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) recently pointed out its Mother's Day transportation plan from May 8 to 11. Over the 4 days, 30 extra services will be added, including 15 southbound and 15 northbound, providing a total of 708 train services. Passenger booking for these is already open. (Editor: Wu Su-jou)
