(Central News Agency reporter Wu Rui-qiang Taoyuan reported on the 20th) The 2026 Taoyuan Lantern Festival concluded successfully in March, attracting over 1.67 million visitors. The Taoyuan City Tourism and Travel Bureau is promoting the circular reuse of lantern sets. The main lantern, 'Flying Horse Shines Taoyuan,' has been relocated to 'Qiantang Travel' in Bada District for continued exhibition, transforming festive memories into artistic highlights.

The Taoyuan City Government's Tourism and Travel Bureau announced today that it has facilitated the adoption of lantern sets by various entities and units, ensuring suitable destinations for the artworks. The first batch, including 'Ma Shang Zhuan,' was adopted by the Water Resources Agency and the Taoyuan District Office and is displayed at the Taoyuan First Riverside Park. 'Miaomiao Song Fu,' 'Bai Lu Ru Hua,' and 'Hai Yu' are being exhibited at the Guishan Public Retention Pond. This allows the light and art of the lantern festival to extend into citizens' daily recreational spaces, implementing resource reuse.

The Tourism and Travel Bureau stated that the main lantern 'Flying Horse Shines Taoyuan' has been taken over by Dengrui Group's Qiantang Travel. This transforms a one-time festival installation into a long-term public art asset. During the relocation process, collaboration with the original production team was maintained for professional evaluation and optimization of structural disassembly, transportation, and reassembly, ensuring the safety and integrity of the artwork. The main lantern will continue to shine in its new setting with a fresh appearance.

The Tourism and Travel Bureau added that in addition to the relocated artworks, the beauty of other splendid lantern sets can be revisited anytime on the 'Le You Taoyuan' fan page. This ensures the sustainable development of the lantern festival's artistic energy and upholds environmental protection, allowing urban memories to be preserved and reinterpreted.
