(CNA Reporter Zeng Yunting, Taipei, 15th) The Nuclear Safety Commission (NSC) announced today that it will hold a local briefing on the "Maanshan Nuclear Power Plant Operating License Renewal Project" in Hengchun Township, Pingtung County, on April 28. It will invite local governments, public representatives, and residents to participate, widely gathering local opinions to serve as a reference for subsequent reviews.

Through a press release, the NSC pointed out that it received the Maanshan Nuclear Power Plant operating license renewal application and restart plan documents submitted by Taipower on March 27 this year. On April 8, it confirmed the documents were complete and met the application requirements, and has officially started the substantive review process.

The NSC stated that to ensure information transparency and promote public participation, it is specially organizing a local briefing during the review period. It invites relevant agencies and residents from the location of the Maanshan Nuclear Power Plant to participate and listen to diverse opinions, which will serve as an important reference basis for the safety review and regulatory operations.

According to the NSC, this briefing will be held at 10:00 AM on April 28 in the 3rd-floor auditorium of the Hengchun Township Office. Registration is open from today until 5:00 PM on April 24.
