(CNA, Taipei, April 20, Reporter Wang Bao-er) After visiting cities such as Shanghai, Seoul, and Bangkok, the Golden Pin Design Award's "Design Perspective x Golden Pin Salon" Asian tour will hold its final stop in Kaohsiung in May. It is expected that three past recipients of the Golden Pin Annual Best Design Award, including Nieh Yen-chen, Kuo En-kai, and Tseng Yu-ting, will give presentations.

The Taiwan Design Research Institute stated in a press release today that the "Design Perspective x Golden Pin Salon," centered on cultural exchange, travels to major creative hubs in Asia each year, inviting judges and winners to share their practical experiences and viewpoints. It has previously sparked discussions in places like Kuala Lumpur, Chengdu, and Singapore.

The team "Nieh Design Studio," founded by designer Nieh Yen-chen, won the Golden Pin Award for Communication Design (Annual Best Design) last year for "Taichung Metropolitan Park - Visual Identity." "Design Perspective x Golden Pin Salon" invites Nieh Yen-chen as a representative to discuss "Minimalism is a Stance," analyzing the process from concept development to visual evolution of the award-winning design.

Tseng Yu-ting, Project Manager at Chang Yu Enterprise, won the Golden Pin Award for Product Design (Annual Best Design) last year for the research and development of "Merrylock MK6070 Household Automatic Air-Threading Combined Machine." In this event, she will discuss "Making Choices Like a Child: Product Design Decisions and Trade-offs from Award-Winning Works," analyzing the logic and key decisions of product design under real-world constraints, and reviewing the design trade-offs during the development process.

Kuo En-kai, principal of Forest Wood Architecture Studio, has consecutively received the Golden Pin Design Award for "Annual Best Design" for three years. This includes "Flowing Ember: Ember Bentwood Bar Space" in 2020, "Maker Space: Bottle Cap Factory Taipei Manufacturing Hub" in 2021, and the bamboo structure work "Bridge Cocoon" in 2024. This time, he will deliver a talk titled "Stepping into the Forest, Bending Trees and Bamboo into Architecture with Your Hands," reflecting on his creative journey and sharing possibilities for innovative applications of natural materials.

The Kaohsiung session of the 2026 "Design Perspective x Golden Pin Salon" will be held on May 8th at 2 PM on the 6th floor of the Bass Tower at the Kaohsiung Music Center, "Taiwan Design Research Institute Southern Laboratory." The event is free to attend. (Editor: Chang Ya-ching) 1150420
