TAIPEI, April 20 (CNA) -- With the easing of US-Iran conflict and the boost from TSMC's earnings call, the Taiwanese stock market surged by 1386.51 points or 3.91% last week. The index closed at 36804.34 points on Friday. According to statistics from the Taiwan Stock Exchange, foreign investors net bought NT$150.047 billion in the stock market last week, marking the second consecutive week of buying.

In terms of individual stocks, the top three listed companies bought by foreign investors last week were Formosa Plastics (147,676 shares), Taiwan Glass (129,608 shares), and Nanya Plastics (112,271 shares). Additionally, Formosa Chemicals & Fibre Corp. also received net buying of 96,903 shares from foreign investors, ranking fourth. The Taiwan Plastics Trio secured three of the top five spots for foreign investors' net buying last week.

On the selling side, the top three listed companies sold by foreign investors last week were Macronix (38,779 shares), Grand Cathay Securities (38,181 shares), and CTBC Financial (35,070 shares).

Statistics show that from the beginning of the year up to April 17th, foreign investors have accumulated net selling of NT$510.437 billion. The total market value of stocks held by foreign investors is NT$58,747.19 trillion, accounting for 48.94% of the total market value of listed stocks. (Editor: Chang Jun-mao) 1150420
