(CNA reporter Hsu Chih-wei, Taipei, 20th) To commend the contributions of special education counselors and schools in colleges and universities, the Ministry of Education is holding the College Special Education Service Commendation Plan. Applications are now being accepted. This year, the "special education long-term service personnel" category has been expanded, allowing those who have served for 5 years or more to be commended.

The Ministry of Education issued a press release today indicating that there are 3 categories of targets for the College Special Education Service Commendation Plan: "special education long-term service personnel," "special education outstanding service personnel," and "distinguished special education schools." This year, the commendation for "special education long-term service personnel" has been expanded. Those who have served for 5 years or more can receive the commendation, and thereafter, they will be commended once every 5 years, up to a maximum of 35 years.

To strengthen the sense of honor for the awarded personnel and schools, and to promote the inheritance of experience, the Ministry of Education stated that an award ceremony will be arranged for the winners. It is expected to be held in August in conjunction with the "College Resource Room New Counselors Work Workshop." Winners will be awarded certificates of appreciation, medals, or certificates of merit. The specific achievements of those awarded the outstanding special education service personnel prize and the distinguished school prize will be compiled into manuals and videos.

Those interested in applying for the College Special Education Service Commendation Plan should prepare the application form and relevant documents. After review by their school, they must submit it to the organizing school, National Kaohsiung Normal University (https://reurl.cc/YDV8xX), before April 30. (Editor: Wu Su-jou) 1150420
