Chiayi Mayor Election: Zhang Qikai Wins Blue-White Alliance Selection; Huang Min-hui Pledges Support and Campaign Assistance

The "Blue-White Alliance" poll for the Chiayi mayoral election has produced its candidate, Zhang Qikai, who will face DPP nominee, legislator Wang Mei-hui.

Kuomintang Chiayi Mayor Huang Min-hui stated in a press release today that the joint primary poll results of the KMT and TPP have been announced, congratulating Zhang Qikai on securing the nomination from both parties. She also thanked the KMT-nominated mayoral candidate Weng Shou-liang for his efforts in reaching out to the grassroots during this period.

Huang Min-hui said that the poll results represent a significant step forward for the blue-white integration. Before the poll, the two parties were like "brothers climbing mountains, each striving on their own"; now that the poll results are settled, the two parties must work together with one heart.

Huang Min-hui stated that although Chiayi City's fundamental base is not with the blue-white camp, and this election will be quite challenging, victory is possible by year's end if everyone unites and fully supports the candidate.
