Changhua City Nanguo Road Parking Lot Topping Out, Completion in November to Solve County Government Parking Issues

The topping-out ceremony for the Nanguo Road parking lot construction project in Changhua City was held today, marking a new milestone for the project. Changhua County Magistrate Wang Mei-mei stated during her speech that the project is expected to be completed in November this year, providing 280 car parking spaces and 610 motorcycle parking spaces, thus resolving the parking issues for the County Government. To address the insufficient parking around the Changhua County Government and Changhua Christian Hospital, the County Government planned to convert the original flat parking lot into a multi-story parking facility. The project received a subsidy of NT$232,607,000 from the Ministry of Transportation and Communications' Forward-looking Infrastructure Development Program, with the County Government self-funding NT$306,963,000. Wang Mei-mei, Director Guo Chun-jian of the Traffic Management and Control Center of the Central Region Branch of the Directorate General of Highways, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, and others attended the event. Magistrate Wang Mei-mei stated in her speech that this multi-story parking lot, with one basement level and four above-ground levels, will provide 280 car parking spaces and 610 motorcycle parking spaces in the future. Furthermore, to accommodate the trend of vehicle electrification, the parking lot will also feature 37 EV parking spaces. The first floor of the parking lot will also include 37 ping (approximately 122 square meters) of commercial space, which can be used for convenience stores or light food services in the future. Wang Mei-mei pointed out that the topping-out ceremony signifies a new milestone for the project, with completion expected in November of the Republic of China year 115 (2026). During the construction period, the County Government also required the construction team to balance engineering quality, safety, and the surrounding environment, minimizing traffic impact on nearby residents. This has also received recognition from the Ministry of Environment and other agencies. The County Government explained that the Nanguo Road multi-story parking lot utilizes a modular concept for its beam and column system, enhancing structural efficiency and spatial flexibility. The facade design combines expanded metal mesh with vertical green belts, introducing natural light and ventilation, and incorporates the uplifting lines of traditional temple roof styles, aiming to become a new urban landmark with aesthetic appeal on Nanguo Road.
