(CNA Reporter Chao Li-Yen, Taichung, 19th) The Taichung City Civil Affairs Bureau hosted a singles mixer on the 18th, combining a bowling tournament, food exchange, and relaxed interaction, successfully facilitating 19 couples and achieving a match rate as high as 95%. Bureau Director Wu Shih-Wei stated that the relaxed atmosphere promoted mutual understanding, effectively increasing the matchmaking success rate.

The Taichung City Civil Affairs Bureau issued a press release today stating that on the 18th, in collaboration with the Central District Household Registration Office, they held a singles mixer titled "Let Love Roll, Score for Happiness" at the Taroko Mall bowling alley. The event integrated a bowling competition, dining, and casual mingling.

Wu Shih-Wei pointed out that 25 singles events are planned for this year, incorporating diverse elements such as sports experiences, creative DIY crafts, and local characteristics. Through joint participation and interactive cooperation, the mixers are no longer confined to static networking. Instead, they promote knowing and understanding each other in relaxed scenarios, effectively boosting the matchmaking success rate.

Yu Hsiu-Hui, Director of the Central District Household Registration Office, noted that the event was themed "Strike for Happiness." It used bowling—a low-intensity, easy-to-learn sport—as an icebreaking opportunity, allowing participants to naturally strike up conversations. This was followed by a "food-assisted" dining session to keep the interactions warm. By fostering an unconstrained "pressure-free encounter," participants could genuinely express themselves, thereby increasing their chances of getting to know one another.

Mr. Chang, a first-time participant, mentioned that he was originally unfamiliar with bowling, but gradually became engaged with the encouragement of his team members, building connections through pitching and interacting. He believes that designing events to make the socializing process more fun and engaging helps reduce pressure and improves the quality of interaction. (Editor: Chen Jen-Hua) 1150419
