(CNA Seoul, April 19, Comprehensive Foreign News) South Korean President Lee Jae-myung arrived in New Delhi, India today by special plane. He will later visit Vietnam, for a total of six days of state visits.
According to Yonhap News, Lee Jae-myung arrived in New Delhi this afternoon and will meet with overseas Korean residents. Tomorrow, he will hold a leaders' summit with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
South Korean National Security Office Chief Wi Sung-rok pointed out at a press conference on the 16th that the visit of Lee Jae-myung to India will serve as an opportunity for the two countries to open a new chapter of cooperation in strategic fields such as shipbuilding, finance, artificial intelligence, and defense.
He also mentioned at the time that amidst the rapidly changing international situation due to factors such as the war in the Middle East, South Korea and India will maintain close cooperation in energy supply chains.
