(Central News Agency reporter Tsai Meng-yu, Kaohsiung, 19th) The Kaohsiung City Government Sports Development Bureau has partnered with the sports tracking platform "Marathon World" to launch the "Go Run Kaohsiung 3.0" campaign. It plans 70 sports hotspots and 8 hiking trails, offering rewards for completing tasks, hoping to help citizens develop exercise habits.
The "Go Run Kaohsiung" event is entering its third edition. Last year's "Go Run Kaohsiung 2.0" attracted 7,524 participants and accumulated over 1.42 million exercise records. This year, the Sports Development Bureau continues to cooperate with the sports tracking platform APP "Marathon World" to launch "Go Run Kaohsiung 3.0," with a launch press conference held today.
Hou Zun-yao, Director of the Sports Development Bureau, stated that according to the latest "2025 Sports Status Survey" by the Ministry of Sports, the proportion of Kaohsiung residents with an overweight BMI has significantly decreased, from 41.3% in 2024 to 38.1% in 2025. Kaohsiung's lean body mass ranking has risen to fourth nationwide and second among the six special municipalities.
Hou Zun-yao said that "Go Run Kaohsiung 3.0" highlights four major features: "Hotspots in all 38 districts," "5K Run to get moving," "iPASS Green Points monthly rewards," and "9 sports tourism itineraries." The event also designs diverse tasks and reward mechanisms for different groups of people.
The Sports Development Bureau explained that this year, the "Go Run Kaohsiung" sports hotspots have expanded from the original 24 locations to all 38 administrative districts of Kaohsiung, planning 70 sports hotspots and 8 hiking trails. By using the APP to record running and walking tracks, participants can achieve "8,000 steps daily," "3 kilometers daily," or check in at designated scenic spots to collect exclusive mission badges and receive raffle tickets.
In addition, this year's event is the first to collaborate with iPASS Corporation to offer tangible rewards. As long as participants accumulate 100,000 steps or run 20 kilometers monthly, they can receive a "20 Green Points redemption voucher," which can be used for public transportation nationwide, consumption at three major convenience stores certified by the Ministry of Environment, and offsetting over 8,200 items of online utility payments.
"Go Run Kaohsiung 3.0" runs from now until August 14. Citizens only need to download the "Marathon World" APP, enter the special zone to complete individual or group registration, and carry their mobile phone to select start exercise; or use a smartwatch to record exercise, and after the data is imported into the APP, the system will automatically detect participants' activities in designated areas or completion of designated tasks, and automatically award corresponding badges and raffle tickets.
