The Central Weather Administration (CWA) issued a dense fog advisory today. From early morning to morning, Kinmen and Matsu are prone to low clouds or localized fog affecting visibility, with visibility already dropping below 200 meters in these areas.

Wu Derong, an adjunct associate professor at the Department of Atmospheric Sciences, National Central University, stated today in the 'Leaking Heaven's Secret Classroom' column of the Meteorological Application Promotion Foundation that the latest European model simulation shows the front moving south from today until tomorrow morning. The central and northern areas will turn to localized showers or thunderstorms. The public should beware of strong convection, accompanied by lightning strikes, strong winds, and disastrous flash heavy rainfall. Southern regions will occasionally have localized brief rainfall, and northern Taiwan will turn cooler.

Wu Derong pointed out that starting tomorrow daytime, the front will weaken, though localized areas will still experience brief rainfall. Temperatures everywhere will rise, making it rather hot during the day.

Wu Derong indicated that from the 9th to the 14th, the southern air mass will be relatively strong, and the front will shift north to the Yangtze River basin. Taiwan's weather will be stable, with daytimes being 'hot as midsummer.' The public should beware of consecutive days of high temperatures and heat, pay attention to sun protection, and drink plenty of water. On the 15th and 16th, a weak front will approach, having a very slight impact. Toward the end of the period, models from various countries still show differences and are constantly adjusting, requiring close observation.

Wu Derong added that according to continuous simulations by various countries, a 'tropical disturbance' will develop southeast of Guam starting this weekend. Although the simulated movements differ among countries, none pose a threat to Taiwan, aligning with the climatological data of 'April typhoons not hitting Taiwan'. (Editor: Zhang Mingkun) 1150407
