US President Donald Trump announced today that Israel and Lebanon will implement a 10-day ceasefire starting at 5 PM US Eastern Time on April 16th.

According to media reports including CNN and NBC News, Trump posted on his social media platform 'Truth Social' stating, 'I just had a very good conversation with the highly respected President of Lebanon, Joseph Aoun, and the Prime Minister of Israel, Bibi Netanyahu.'

Trump stated that both leaders agreed to officially begin a 10-day ceasefire at 5 PM US Eastern Time to achieve peace between the two countries.

He added, 'I have instructed Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, along with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Razin Caine, to work with Israel and Lebanon to achieve lasting peace.'
