(Central News Agency reporter Wang Bao-er, Taipei, April 16) The experimental exhibition project "FUTURE VISION LAB" at the Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab (C-LAB) enters its seventh year. The acclaimed work "Virtual Mountain," exhibited at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, and the works "Temporal Layers" and "New Modern Era," which recently premiered internationally, will also be presented.

"FUTURE VISION LAB," initiated by the Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab (C-LAB) in 2020, primarily utilizes the spherical "Dome Theater," a unique space with full projection mapping inside.

C-LAB CEO Hsieh Tsui-yu mentioned at a press conference today that the program has so far exhibited 238 works in the Dome Theater space, and 118 of these works have been cataloged on a dedicated website for ongoing viewing and use.

Hsieh Tsui-yu stated that "FUTURE VISION LAB" aims to provide audiences with an immersive new experience through the annual exhibitions. Each year, the call for submissions attracts 40 to 50 entries. This year, in collaboration with the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA), it brings works supported by TAICCA, "Temporal Layers" and "New Modern Era." Additionally, it is collaborating with the Department of Interaction Design at Taipei Tech for the first time, showcasing student works from Taipei National University of the Arts and National Tsing Hua University.

"Temporal Layers" and "New Modern Era" premiered in March at the FilmGate Interactive Media Festival in Miami, USA. "Temporal Layers," co-created by artists Wu Ping-sheng and Liu Cheng-chieh, reinterprets the materiality of time through the Dome Theater space. "New Modern Era" is a collaboration between artists such as Chujinlai, Super Dimension, Edo Miraiyo, Paiwan singer Kivi, electronic music DJ Lai Pi, and Lim Giong, combining Taiwanese cultural elements with digital fantasy of the AI era.

This year's "FUTURE VISION LAB" exhibition plan will run for 8 consecutive weekends, featuring a total of 16 programs and 19 works from Taiwan, France, Spain, and other countries, divided into live performances, exhibitions, and screenings.

Tsai Chi-hung, the project director of FUTURE VISION LAB and director of the Future Vision Lab, told CNA that the work "Virtual Mountain," a collaboration between artists Yao Jui-chung, Guo Yi, and Meuko! Meuko!, has sold out its early bird tickets for the May live performance.

Tsai Chi-hung mentioned that "Virtual Mountain" was exhibited at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts last year and has continued to generate discussion. Ticket requests in the first week were particularly high. The self-produced program "Future Vision Party #3," which has been nearly sold out in the past, will also go on sale. This iteration features live improvisational performances by himself and artists Liu Tung-yu and Lin Yu-te, incorporating elements like drawing and adding water to a fish tank, aiming to create a party-like atmosphere.

"FUTURE VISION LAB 2026" will take place from April 18 to June 7, running for 8 consecutive weekends at the East Lawn Dome Theater of the Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab. (Editor: Wu Su-jou) 1150416
