Taiwan stock market falls 327.68 points

The Taipei stock market fluctuated and trended downward today, closing down 327.68 points at 36804.34 points, a drop of 0.88%, with a transaction value of NT$9431.19 billion.

The weighted index opened at 37145.66 points, with an intraday high of 37145.66 points and a low of 36776.28 points; the index excluding financial stocks was 33116.29 points, down 308.14 points.

The gain and loss percentages of the eight major sectors: cement/ceramics up 2.42%, food up 0.33%, plastics/chemicals down 1.05%, textiles down 0.43%, machinery/electronics down 1%, paper down 1.45%, construction up 0.31%, and financials down 0.41%.

There were 25,321,813 buy orders and 17,223,112 sell orders, with 13,471,934 transactions completed.

At the close, 506 companies rose, 499 fell, and 92 remained unchanged.

The top 5 stocks by trading volume were Active Uni-President Taiwan Stock Growth, UMC, AUO, Taiwan Glass, and Innolux.

The top 5 gainers were Taiwan Union Technology-KY, Spirox, Harvatek, CreateTech, and Topoint.

The top 5 losers were Visera, ChipMOS, SyncMation, Largan, and Hung Ching. 1150417
