Taipower Women's Badminton Team Arrives in Penghu to Impart Practical Skills to Students

The Taipower Women's Badminton Team, led by team leader Chang Wen-chi, visited Wenguang Junior High School in Penghu today to engage in competitive exchanges with elementary and junior high school badminton teams within Penghu County. Through practical matches, technical demonstrations, and sideline coaching, they imparted their rich competition experience and practical skills to the students, demonstrating the passion and warmth of sports exchange. Penghu County Deputy Magistrate Lin Chieh-hsing, Education Department Director Chen Ching-hui, and others attended the Taipower Care Train public welfare event and expressed their gratitude. Lin Chieh-hsing pointed out that many players in the Taipower Women's Badminton Team are top national-level players who have achieved excellent results in national ranking competitions and international events, possessing both exquisite skills and rich practical experience. He hopes that through close-range exchanges, it will not only enhance the technical level of island badminton players but also inspire local students to bravely pursue their dreams through the growth stories of outstanding athletes. Lin Chieh-hsing stated that badminton is one of the important sports actively promoted by Penghu in recent years. The county government continues to invest resources, subsidizing schools to improve badminton training environments, supporting students' expenses for participating in competitions in Taiwan, and hiring professional coaches to strengthen training quality. Lin Chieh-hsing mentioned that at the same time, through the grassroots sports athlete training station mechanism, national elementary to high school athletes are invited to Penghu for exchanges and competitions, combined with the promotion of various events in the county, gradually strengthening grassroots strength. He hopes that badminton will not only become a competitive stage but also shape a sports culture for all people to participate in. Chang Wen-chi stated that the Taipower Women's Badminton Team first came to Penghu schools in 2019 and returned again this year to share the joy of playing badminton with the children. In addition to cultivating athletes and bringing glory to the country, they also continue to invest in grassroots promotion, hoping to give more children the opportunity to experience badminton, fall in love with sports, and have the chance to become a member of the Taipower Women's Badminton Team in the future. The Taipower Women's Badminton Team was established in 1971 and has been deeply involved in the development of women's badminton in Taiwan for over half a century. It is one of the corporate teams in Taiwan's professional badminton league dedicated to cultivating female athletes, having won more than 20 championships in events such as the National Badminton Team Championship.
