(Central News Agency reporter Huang Hsu-sheng, Lienchiang County, April 15) Taipower's Matsu District Office today invited 22 high-voltage users to a forum to promote adjustments and management for shifting electricity consumption away from night peak hours, hoping to improve energy efficiency, reduce peak load, and balance energy conservation, carbon reduction, and grid stability.

Taipower's Matsu District Office stated in a press release today that the forum, led by Director Chan Han-kuei, awarded commendations to manufacturers with excellent performance in shifting night peak electricity consumption, recognizing their energy-saving achievements. The forum also explained the concept of deep energy saving and elaborated on strategies such as shifting electricity consumption away from night peak hours to help high-voltage users optimize their electricity usage patterns.

According to Taipower data, night peak electricity consumption refers to the period after sunset when solar power generation ceases, but residential and industrial electricity demand remains high. Taipower has adjusted peak electricity tariff periods to guide electricity usage towards daytime hours with higher prices, thereby alleviating pressure on night-time power supply.

The meeting pointed out that shifting the electricity usage of high-energy-consuming equipment to off-peak hours, combined with the use of energy storage devices during peak hours, can effectively improve electricity usage efficiency and reduce electricity costs, while also easing peak grid pressure and enhancing overall power supply stability.

In addition, Taipower also provided a special report on equipment maintenance and accelerated power restoration procedures for high-voltage users, strengthening users' understanding of power system operations and response mechanisms. On-site consultations and electricity tariff recommendations were offered to help users choose suitable plans based on their operational needs.

Chan Han-kuei stated that through exchanges and experience sharing, the forum helps enhance corporate energy management capabilities, assists users in reducing operating costs, and creates a win-win situation for energy saving and economic benefits.
