Taipei City's Department of Transportation, in collaboration with MOOVO, is continuing its trial of dockless shared electric-assisted bicycles. Due to stable usage over the initial six months, the operator has been approved for a six-month extension until the end of August. The number of rental stations has expanded to 30. The operator will assess the feasibility of increasing the number of vehicles based on the situation. The trial, which began in September last year, initially deployed 30 bikes and 19 stations around MRT Daan Station, Xinyi Anhe Station, and Daan Forest Park Station in Daan District. The cost is NT$10 for the first 15 minutes, followed by NT$1 per minute. The operator can deploy up to 500 vehicles. The Department of Transportation stated today that the project leverages the advantages of electronic fence shared bicycles, such as rapid deployment, low cost, high space utilization, and great flexibility, to test technical feasibility and public response. Although usage was not exceptionally high in the first half, parking was within expectations, preventing illegal parking chaos.
