A car accident involving a passenger car and a motorcycle occurred this morning in Yanshui District, Tainan City, resulting in two fatalities. The front of the passenger car was severely damaged and deformed after hitting a guardrail. The female car driver and male motorcyclist, a total of two injured persons, died after being sent to the hospital. The cause of the accident is being further clarified by the police.

The Tainan City Fire Bureau received a report at 10:41 AM, stating that a passenger car and a motorcycle had an accident on Provincial Highway 19, Sanning Village, Jiuying Road section in Yanshui District. Four vehicles and eight personnel were immediately dispatched for rescue. Upon arrival, they found the front of the passenger car severely damaged and deformed, with two injured persons, one male and one female, at the scene.

After examination by fire personnel, the 70-year-old passenger car driver, Ms. Ding, and the 70-year-old motorcyclist, Mr. Yang, both showed signs of cardiopulmonary arrest before arrival (OHCA). They were transported by two ambulances to Liuying Chimei Hospital and Ministry of Health and Welfare Sinying Hospital, respectively, but both were pronounced dead due to severe injuries.

Due to the lack of surveillance cameras near the accident scene, police and fire personnel initially speculated that the passenger car was traveling south to north and the motorcycle north to south. It is suspected that after the two vehicles collided, the passenger car then hit the road guardrail, causing severe damage.

Zhang Ming-hua, head of the traffic division of the Tainan City Police Department's Sinying Precinct, told media that the car accident on Provincial Highway 19, 103K section in Yanshui District, involved a severe collision between a passenger car and a motorcycle. Both drivers unfortunately died after being sent to the hospital. The police have reported the case to the Tainan District Prosecutors Office for investigation and clarification of the cause of the accident. (Editor: Huang Ming-hsi) 1150413
