Central News Agency (CNA), Tainan, April 16th. Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che today met with Pyeongtaek Mayor Jung Jang-sun in South Korea and participated in the Pyeongtaek Flower Picnic Festival, actively promoting Tainan pineapples and expanding overseas markets to enhance the international visibility of Tainan's agricultural products.
The Tainan City Government stated in a press release today that Jung Jang-sun visited Tainan in January this year and signed a "Memorandum of Understanding on Agricultural Product Exchange" with Huang Wei-che. They also attended the Taiwan-Korea Agricultural and Food Trade Forum, agreeing to exchange Tainan pineapples and Pyeongtaek pears. Mayor Huang's return visit this time also included participation in the Pyeongtaek Flower Picnic Festival.
Huang Wei-che said that Tainan and Pyeongtaek have achieved fruitful results in agriculture. Tainan is in the tropics, while Pyeongtaek is in the temperate zone. He welcomed Pyeongtaek citizens to visit Tainan, taste Tainan's cuisine, and enjoy its seasonal fruits.
The city government explained that the Pyeongtaek Flower Picnic Festival features many local agricultural product booths. Tainan City was the only exhibitor from outside Pyeongtaek. They showcased Tainan's agricultural products on-site, conveying the brand image of "Sweet Tainan," and helping Tainan's high-quality agricultural products reach the world.
