Taichung Veterans General Hospital Builds New Building, Reducing Parking Spaces; Offers NT$100 Valet Service

(Central News Agency, Taichung, April 16) Taichung Veterans General Hospital is building its third medical building, which will reduce on-campus parking spaces by 200. To alleviate parking demand, the hospital is introducing a 'valet parking' service, assisting the public in parking their vehicles in off-campus parking lots for a one-way fee of NT$100.

Taichung Veterans General Hospital stated today that the hospital originally had 1,254 parking spaces. However, some parking space land is being used for the construction base. The hospital has established second and third parking lots off-campus, equipped with free shuttle buses.

Considering the convenience of patient parking, the hospital launched the 'valet parking service' starting yesterday. On weekdays from 8 AM to 4 PM, service counters are set up outside the first floor of the 1st Medical Building and the Outpatient Building's front main building. Service personnel will assist drivers in parking their vehicles in the off-campus third parking lot and take photos for record.

The hospital stated that visitors can present their parking card at the valet service counter to retrieve their keys, take the shuttle bus to the third parking lot, pay the valet fee of NT$100 and parking fee at the payment machine, and then depart.

The hospital said that the third medical building is expected to be completed in 2027 and will provide 730 parking spaces. It will be planned for early activation at that time. (Editor: Li Mingzong) 1150416
