(Central News Agency reporter Su Mu-chun, Taichung, 15th) Taichung police, while investigating a drug case, traced a suspect, a man surnamed Wang, who had set up a drug packaging facility in the Taoyuan area. Following the investigation and raid, Mr. Wang was arrested, and drugs worth over NT$1 million were seized. After police questioning, he was sent for prosecution, and the prosecutor has recently indicted him according to law.

The Third Precinct of the Taichung City Police Bureau stated today that during a recent drug case investigation, they traced a 30-year-old man surnamed Wang who had been selling marijuana to unspecified individuals in the Taoyuan area for a long time. A special task force was immediately formed to investigate.

After police surveillance and evidence collection, in March 2025, multiple teams were dispatched to search several locations in Taoyuan District and Bade District, Taoyuan City. In Mr. Wang's vehicle and residence, 31 second-class drug marijuana cartridges, 3 bags of marijuana, and 7 cans of marijuana oil were seized on the spot, totaling over 2 kilograms in gross weight, with a market value of approximately NT$1 million.

Mr. Wang claimed that he purchased the drugs from a man surnamed Zhang and then repackaged them into cartridges for sale. Other evidence seized at the scene included heaters, packaging tools, ledgers, and multiple mobile phones.

After police questioning, the entire case was transferred to the Taiwan Taoyuan District Prosecutors Office for investigation on charges of violating the Narcotics Hazard Prevention Act. The prosecutor has already indicted him in March this year. The police will continue to expand the investigation to trace the upstream sources of the drugs to maintain social order.
