The Changhua County Fire Bureau received a report at 3:10 AM indicating a rear-end collision between two light trucks and two chemical tanker trucks at the 161.9-kilometer mark of Provincial Highway 61 in Shengang Township, Changhua County. The bureau dispatched four fire engines and eight personnel to the rescue. Three drivers were sent to the hospital, with no one trapped.
According to the fire bureau, based on statements from the driver of the overturned chemical tanker truck, the substance inside is suspected to be methyl acetate and is leaking. The other chemical tanker truck has no leaks. On the north side of the incident scene, firefighters from Taichung City are conducting safety protection, while on the south side, personnel and vehicles from the Shengang branch and Hemei branch deployed water-spraying robots for safety protection.
