The exam will be held on July 25 and 26, and scores can be retained for three years, serving as a qualification for those seeking teaching positions abroad.

The Ministry of Education stated in a press release today that this certification requires online registration only. Applicants must first complete their registration information online and then mail their documents to the "Graduate Academic Affairs Division, Office of Academic Affairs, National Taiwan University." The "Certification Examination for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language" is primarily used to select professional Chinese language teaching personnel and serves as a qualification requirement for Ministry of Education subsidies for teaching at overseas schools. Since its inception in 2006 (Republic Era 95), it has entered its 21st session, with a cumulative total of 35,670 candidates and 6,631 individuals having obtained the certification.

This examination is not easy; candidates must pass five subjects (written and oral exams) and have their scores within the retention period (within three years). They must also provide proof of foreign language proficiency that meets the certification criteria to apply for the "Certification Examination for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language" certificate.

The Ministry of Education plans to implement a new certification examination system in 2027 (Republic Era 116), with related measures to be announced by the end of July this year on the Department of International and Cross-strait Education's website for the Chinese language teaching certification examination.
