(Central News Agency, New York, April 17, International News) As Iran announced the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, raising expectations for the end of the US-Iran war, crude oil and European natural gas prices plummeted today.

West Texas Intermediate crude oil futures for May delivery in the New York market fell 11.5% to close at $83.85 per barrel.

Brent crude futures for June delivery in the London market fell 9.1% to close at $90.38 per barrel.
