(CNA Reporter Huang Hsu-sheng, New Taipei, 18th) The New Taipei City mayoral race is heating up. Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) candidate Su Chiao-hui is deeply cultivating local roots, proposing a development vision for Yingge District; Kuomintang (KMT) candidate Lee Shu-chuan is diligently running grassroots campaigns, emphasizing the connection between construction and emotion; and Taiwan People's Party (TPP) candidate Huang Kuo-chang is demonstrating cohesion through team dragon boat training.

DPP legislator Su Chiao-hui and DPP city councilor Cho Kuan-ting held a symposium in Yingge today, with enthusiastic interaction from supporters. Su stated that Yingge has nurtured Olympic gold medalist boxer Lin Yu-ting, and she hopes to promote local development with innovative thinking in the future, creating a 'Yingge Renaissance' to elevate cultural and industrial value.

She also took stock of past construction achievements she secured for Yingge, including adding escalators to Yingge train station, setting up the Fengming temporary station, the Fengming detention basin, the Dahan River embankment bypass, and improvements to the Yingge public market. If elected, she will further strengthen medical capacity and plan additional parking lots and libraries to enhance living functions.

KMT candidate Lee Shu-chuan attended the Yonghe Women's Association and Tamsui temple fair activities today, and participated in a banquet for the Shuanghe Yunlin Natives Association, continuing to consolidate grassroots support. Lee stated he would work hand-in-hand with women's groups to strive for local development, pointing out that urban development relies not only on engineering construction but also on the strength of women and mothers.

Lee expressed his gratitude to the many people from Yunlin who came north to work hard and put down roots in New Taipei. He said the hardworking spirit of the Yunlin folks perfectly matches his professional, practical nature in engineering. If elected, he will continue to ensure stable infrastructure and create a livable environment, allowing people working away from home to live with peace of mind.

On the TPP side, Huang Kuo-chang's campaign headquarters stated that in preparation for the '2026 New Taipei City Council Speaker's Cup Dragon Boat Championship', TPP city councilor Chen Shih-hsuan led a 'People's New Taipei Team' comprising multiple city council candidates, party cadres, and volunteers. They began water training at Bitan in Xindian, showcasing a spirit of teamwork.

Huang Kuo-chang trained with Chen Shih-hsuan and multiple candidates today. In an interview, he stated that having experienced the race last year, he hopes to achieve even better results this year. Regarding outside attention on the election layout in Changhua County, he said there is no need to over-speculate on inter-party strategies, emphasizing that continuing Magistrate Wang Hui-mei's governance achievements and responding to public demands is the most important aspect of the election.
